17 Bright Stars from Meghalaya Join STAR-30 Health Courses Initiative
The State Council of Science, Technology and Environment (SCSTE) in Meghalaya announced the selection of 17 students from the inaugural batch of the Meghalaya STAR-30 coaching program for the academic year 2024-25. This initiative aims to prepare promising young individuals for medical and allied health courses, specifically targeting those aspiring to succeed in the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET).
Launched on National Science Day in 2024, the Meghalaya STAR-30 program offers free, residential coaching tailored for students from underprivileged and rural backgrounds, ensuring equitable access to high-quality medical entrance education. The first batch commenced on July 15, 2024, while another program is set to begin on July 15, 2025.
SCSTE officials celebrated the achievements of the selected candidates, expressing pride in the state’s emerging young talent. They emphasized the government’s commitment to expanding this transformative initiative, focusing on scientific learning, equal opportunities, and youth empowerment. This program aims to open doors for more students from rural and tribal areas to fulfill their medical career aspirations.
