Shocking Silence: Dulquer Salmaan Fans Express Outrage as Actor Ignores Reporters Following ED Raid!
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) launched a series of raids across Kerala and Tamil Nadu on October 8, targeting 17 properties linked to a luxury car smuggling racket. Among those raided were the residences of prominent Malayalam film stars Dulquer Salmaan, Mammootty, and Prithviraj Sukumaran. Notably, Dulquer Salmaan was spotted arriving in Kochi later that day, wearing a casual blue shirt, jeans, and a cap. As reporters sought to question him, he chose to evade engagement, swiftly leaving the scene in his car. His confident demeanor and composed stride caught the attention of fans, prompting social media to erupt with comments and admiration. Many shared slow-motion videos of his exit, accompanied by cinematic music, likening the moment to a dramatic film scene. One fan remarked, “That walk that blew the paparazzi in the wind,” while another noted, “He doesn’t want anything else; his cars are enough.” Comments continued to pour in, with one user simply stating, “Boss spotted.”
The ED’s raids are part of a broader investigation into the illicit importation of luxury vehicles, including Land Cruisers, Defenders, and Maseratis, through routes connecting India, Bhutan, and Nepal. Authorities suspect a Coimbatore-based network exploited fraudulent documents, including fake Army, US Embassy, and Ministry of External Affairs papers, to sell these cars at reduced prices to wealthy buyers, including film stars. The raids spanned across significant locations in the region, including Ernakulam, Thrissur, Kozhikode, Malappuram, Kottayam, Coimbatore, and Chennai.
Dulquer Salmaan’s involvement in the controversy intensified on September 23, when Customs officials seized 36 luxury cars across around 30 locations in Kerala, with some belonging to Salmaan and Sukumaran. This operation, dubbed “Operation Numkhor”—meaning “vehicle” in Bhutanese-has drawn significant media attention. Salmaan has publicly challenged the car seizure, claiming it has tarnished his reputation. He asserted that the vehicle in question was sent by the International Committee of the Red Cross to their New Delhi office and that he believed it had proper registration and ownership. According to him, he had no grounds to suspect otherwise.
Expressing his frustration, Salmaan accused Customs of acting in a “hasty” and “arbitrary” manner, neglecting the documentation he provided. On October 7, the Kerala High Court ruled in his favor, allowing him to file for the provisional return of his seized car. The court directed the ED to consider his plea within a week should he choose to proceed.
As the investigation unfolds, the implications for those involved remain uncertain, contributing to the ongoing public intrigue surrounding high-profile figures in the Malayalam film industry.
