Project Brahmank, under the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) and in partnership with the North Eastern Institute of Ayurveda & Folk Medicine Research (NEIAFMR) in Pasighat, celebrated the 11th International Day of Yoga with significant participation across its Areas of Responsibility (AoRs), extending to remote Indo-China border villages such as Geling, Lamang, Tuting, and Mechuka. The observance centered around this year’s global theme, “Yoga for Self and Society,” as Project Brahmank organized coordinated yoga sessions at various headquarters and forward locations, including HQ CE(P) Brahmank in Pasighat, HQ 44 BRTF in Aalo, and HQ 761 TF in Yingkiong, engaging personnel, civilians, and local communities.

Trained instructors led sessions in high-altitude and strategically sensitive areas, focusing on asanas, meditation, and awareness talks. These initiatives highlighted the physical, mental, and spiritual benefits of yoga, promoting well-being and inner balance among troops and Casual Paid Labourers (CPLs). The events underscored yoga’s importance in fostering individual resilience and societal harmony.

Celebrations at NEIAFMR kicked off well ahead of June 21, launching a 47-day countdown initiative that encouraged public engagement and included student competitions for Classes VIII to XII, as well as college and university levels. The main event drew enthusiastic participation from both students and residents, reinforcing the message of holistic health and cultural unity.

Through these efforts, both BRO and NEIAFMR showcased that yoga is not merely an ancient practice but a vibrant tradition capable of thriving in challenging environments. This initiative resonated with the global ethos of “One Earth, One Health,” emphasizing the timeless relevance and adaptability of yoga in diverse communities.
