India and Vietnam have announced plans to enhance cooperation in the media and entertainment sectors. This commitment was made during a meeting in New Delhi between Dr. L Murugan, the Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting, and a delegation of senior officials from Vietnam. The two nations enjoy a history of close and amicable bilateral relations, which continued to flourish. In 2022, India and Vietnam celebrated the 50th anniversary of their diplomatic ties.
The relationship between India and Vietnam was elevated to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in 2016, during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Vietnam. This partnership aims to deepen collaboration across various sectors. Both countries emphasized their rich civilizational ties, including a shared Buddhist heritage. In their discussions, they also agreed to actively work towards strengthening their multifaceted cooperation in the future.
