Congress Aims for Historic 95% Vote Share in Assam Panchayat Polls, Says MLA Rekibuddin
In a strategic push as the second phase of Panchayat elections approaches, Congress MLA Rekibuddin Ahmed, alongside AICC Secretary Manoj Chauhan, ramped up campaigning efforts in Goroimari. The crucial elections are set for May 7, with campaigning concluding tomorrow at 5 PM.
Reporting from Goroimari, Ahmed expressed a buoyant outlook for his party’s upcoming prospects. He remarked, “We are confident about securing over 70 percent of the seats in the Anchalik Panchayat.” This assertion comes in the wake of the initial phase of the elections, which took place on May 2, further bolstering the party’s morale.
Highlighting the party’s formidable position, Ahmed noted that among the 11 council candidates present, one has already been declared the uncontested winner from Hatipara. “We are certain that the remaining ten will also emerge victorious,” he emphasized, showcasing the confidence that permeates the campaign.
Extending his projections to the Zila Parishad elections, Ahmed demonstrated even greater optimism. He insisted that the party expects to clinch both seats with an impressive 90 to 95 percent of the vote share. “The people are with us,” he stated, reinforcing the party’s belief in its grassroots support.
As the election date nears, the Congress party remains resolute in its commitment to delivering results that reflect the community’s backing, aiming for a decisive victory in this pivotal electoral phase.
