Meanwhile, a special bench of the Calcutta High Court has intervened, mandating the immediate deployment of central forces to the trouble-torn region and calling for detailed reports from both the state and central governments. This directive will be reviewed in a forthcoming court hearing scheduled for April 17.
In a bid to counter opposition narratives and calm tensions, the BJP has initiated a ‘Waqf Reforms Awareness Campaign.’ Spanning from April 20 to May 5, this campaign aims to elucidate the benefits of the Waqf Act, specifically targeting the Muslim community to garner support and understanding amidst ongoing dissent.
