Boundary Integrity Ensured: Thriving Relations through Joint Interstate Verification in Tarasso Circle
Boundary Verification Exercise Aims to Resolve Age-Old Disputes between Arunachal Pradesh and Assam
A long-awaited joint verification exercise to demarcate the inter-state boundary between Arunachal Pradesh and Assam was undertaken in the Tarasso circle of Balijan subdivision last Friday. This crucial initiative marks a significant step towards resolving the contentious boundary issues and fostering peaceful coexistence between neighboring communities. The high-profile team verification exercise was led by Assam’s Behali MLA, Diganta Ghatowar, and Doimuh MLA, Nabam Vivek.
The administrative leadership from both sides was present, with Bishwanath Deputy Commissioner, Munindra Nath Ngatey, and Papum Pare Deputy Commissioner, Jiken Bomjen, overseeing the exercise. They were joined by the superintendents of police from both districts, Subhasish Baruah (Bishwanath) and Taru Gusar (Papum Pare), as well as forest officials, administrative officers, and goan burahs who carried out on-ground physical verification of the boundaries at key locations in Meteke, Lower Tarasso, Lower Balijan, and Dariabil villages.
The joint exercise reflects the commitment of both state governments to a transparent, peaceful, and mutually acceptable resolution to boundary-related concerns. “This collaborative effort is a progressive step forward in building trust and ensuring the rights and welfare of people residing in the border areas,” said a DIPRO statement. By engaging in open communication and cooperation, the parties involved seek to address the complex issues and promote a harmonious relationship between the neighboring communities.
The verification exercise is a major development in the longstanding boundary disputes between Arunachal Pradesh and Assam. The resolution of these long-standing issues will pave the way for better understanding and unity among the communities. The recent initiative underscores the importance of maintaining peace and stability in border regions, as well as the shared commitment to resolving disputes through diplomacy and cooperation.
Assam’s Bishwanath Deputy Commissioner, Munindra Nath Ngatey, echoed the sentiment, emphasizing the significance of peaceful coexistence between the neighboring states. “This joint verification exercise marks a crucial step in the ongoing efforts to resolve the boundary disputes,” he noted. By engaging in constructive dialogue, the parties involved are working towards a resolution that prioritizes mutual understanding and respect for each other’s rights and needs.
The joint verification exercise is a testament to the commitment of both the state governments to peaceful coexistence and mutually beneficial solutions. As the process unfolds, the parties involved are likely to reiterate their dedication to resolving the boundary disputes amicably. In the meantime, residents of the border areas can look forward to a more harmonious and secure environment, underpinned by trust, cooperation, and mutual understanding.
