Uncovering the Shocking Truth Behind a Delhi Man’s Misfortune: A Tale of Mistaken Identity
In a rather awkward moment, Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Nityanand Rai found himself in an unusual spot during a Rajya Sabha debate on the Immigration and Foreigners Bill, 2025. While responding to concerns raised by some MPs, Rai mistakenly referred to Trinamool Congress MP Sushmita Dev as Sushmita Sen, the renowned actress, much to the amusement of both the treasury and opposition benches. Dev, however, stood up and corrected the minister, who promptly apologised for the blunder.
Another attention-grabbing story recently emerged, featuring eight-year-old Ananya Yadav, who caught the attention of the Supreme Court. A viral video of her running with her school bag and books during a demolition drive in UP’s Ambedkar Nagar was widely shared on social media. As a result, local Samajwadi Party leaders, who are in contact with Ananya’s family, are now working to schedule a meeting between the young girl and party president Akhilesh Yadav. With Akhilesh attending the ongoing Budget Session in Parliament, the meeting is anticipated to take place once he returns to the state from Delhi.
In another development, a senior IPS officer in the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) has been repatriated to her parent cadre, just days after a complaint alleging her involvement in financial irregularities and hawala transactions was received by the Union Home Ministry. The officer, who was set to complete seven years of deputation on April 1, was sanctioned 60 days of earned leave.
