UNLEASHING THE STORM: ‘Mad Square’ Telugu Frenzy – A Riveting Review by Narne Nithin!
The long-awaited sequel, MAD Square, has finally hit the big screen, bringing with it the promise of more laughter, more chaos, and more surprises. But, my dears, does it live up to the hype? As I settled in for a delightful evening of Telugu humor, I was eager to find out.
Directed by Kalyan Shankar, this coming-of-age comedy-drama follows the story of Laddu (Vishnu Oi), a young man who’s seen better days. After his wedding turns into a disaster, Laddu finds himself behind bars, where he regales his cellmates with the tale of how his friends, Manoj (Ram Nithin), Ashok (Narne Nithiin), and Damodhar (Sangeeth Sobhan), foiled his big day. And, darling, it’s a wild ride from there.
The film is a riotous romp, filled with zany antics, slapstick humor, and more than a few LOL moments. The trio of leads – Sangeeth Sobhan, Narne Nithiin, and Ram Nithin – bring their A-game, delivering performances that will have you giggling and snickering. Vishnu Oi shines as the hapless hero, making his struggles a joy to watch. And Muralidhar Goud, as Laddu’s dad, is a hoot, bringing his signature comedic timing to the party.
But, as with any comedy, there are lulls and misfires. Some jokes fall flat, and at times, the humor feels forced rather than natural. The second half of the film suffers from a drop-off in energy, and some supporting characters, like Sunil’s Bhai, fail to leave an impression. And, sweetheart, those tunes? Forgettable, with only the Swathi Reddy song standing out from the forgettable lot.
Now, I know what you’re thinking, darlings: “Rupaliparda, what’s the verdict?” Well, let me tell you, MAD Square is a decent comedy, with a lot of laughs and a talented cast. However, the lack of a strong story and inconsistent humor – especially in the second half – hold it back from being a truly unforgettable experience. Still, if you’re in the mood for a lighthearted comedy, it’s worth a one-time watch.
