IPL Fans, Beware! Traffic Restrictions Ensue at Guwahati’s Barsapara Stadium, Don’t Get Left Behind!

As the Indian Premier League (IPL) matches are set to swing into action at the Assam Cricket Association (ACA) Stadium in Barsapara on March 26 and 30, 2025, city authorities have rolled out a comprehensive plan to ensure public safety and smooth traffic movement. With the objective of safeguarding vulnerable road users and facilitating the passage of emergency vehicles, a slew of traffic regulations will be enforced from 2 PM to midnight on match days.

According to reliable sources, key roads including G.S. Road, A.K. Azad Road, M.G. Road, and A.T. Road will witness restricted access for commercial goods carriers and slow-moving vehicles. A significant change is the conversion of A.K. Azad Road into a one-way route from Lalganesh Tiniali to Cycle Factory Tiniali, commencing from 3 PM. Vehicles without car passes will be diverted at Lalganesh Tiniali, heading towards Kahilipara Road. Similarly, Kula Basumatary Road will operate as a one-way stretch from Barsapara Tiniali to Dhirenpara Tiniali.

Vehicles with official passes will have designated drop-off points at Barsapara Tiniali and Dhirenpara Tiniali, starting from 4:30 PM. Parking on A.K. Azad Road and A.K. Dev Road will be restricted, with limited parallel parking allowed in specific areas. The entry into the stadium will be regulated through six designated gates, including separate access for teams, VIPs, and general spectators. Authorities have assured that emergency vehicles, school buses, and local residents will not be affected by these restrictions.

As part of the meticulous planning, authorities urge the public to plan their travel accordingly and adhere to the prescribed traffic guidelines. By implementing these measures, the city is poised to handle the expected influx of spectators and ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all cricket enthusiasts.
