Twin Deaths in Karnataka: Relief Measures Taken, Investigation Ongoing
A shocking incident of food poisoning has left the state of Meghalaya reeling, after two students from the region passed away in a Karnataka-based school. The tragic event has triggered a swift response from the administration, which has assured that the remaining students from Meghalaya will be relocated to a rehabilitation center, Bala Mandir, once they’re discharged from the hospital. The decision was made during a review meeting chaired by Mandya’s Deputy Commissioner, attended by officials from Meghalaya, led by Home Commissioner and Secretary Cyril V Diengdoh.
The meeting was convened to discuss the situation, and the measures being taken to address the crisis. The authorities have also decided to allow the students to sit for their final examination this month, ensuring that they won’t miss out on their academic commitments. The district administration has also allocated dedicated staff to monitor the students’ diet and health, following doctor’s recommendations.
The incident has sent shockwaves across the state, and the authorities are working tirelessly to get to the bottom of the matter. The investigation is ongoing, and the police have arrested several individuals in connection with the case. The Meghalaya officials have also been kept informed of the progress and have sought updates on the investigation.
Meanwhile, the body of 12-year-old Namebantei Marwein, who passed away earlier, arrived in his native village, Sohparu, Nongstoin. According to a relative, Marwein was studying in a Karnataka-based school with the support of an association, and the school authorities had kept the family updated on his health condition throughout.
The relatives of the deceased student expressed gratitude to the school authorities and hospital staff for their efforts to save his life. The incident has raised concerns about the safety and well-being of students from Meghalaya studying in external institutions, and the authorities are working to address these concerns.
As the situation unfolds, the people of Meghalaya, as well as those concerned about the well-being of the students, await further updates on the investigation and relief measures being taken.
