Unprecedented Success: Thrilling 98.27% Attendance on First Day of SSC Exam Sets New State Record!
On Monday, March 17, the students of KDPM High School in Visakhapatnam sought the blessings of their class teacher before stepping into their examination center to begin the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) board exams. This touching scene set the stage for the first day of exams conducted by the Andhra Pradesh Board of Secondary Education, where overall attendance was an impressive 98.27%. According to a press release from School Education Director Vijay Rama Raju, out of the 6,27,277 registered candidates, 6,16,451 appeared to write the First Language exam, while 10,826 were absent.
The board examinations are a significant event for students across the state, and this year they are being held at 3,450 examination centers. To maintain the integrity of the exams, 1,545 centers received surprise inspections by flying squads on the first day. During one such inspection at a school in Kurnool district, two students were caught in malpractice activities and have consequently been debarred from the examinations, as confirmed by Director Vijay Rama Raju.
Ensuring smooth execution of the exams, the Board’s efforts in organizing and monitoring have set a robust standard for subsequent exam days. The exceptional attendance rate underscores both the students’ commitment and the administrative efficiency displayed in managing such a large-scale event, where nearly all registered students promptly participated.
Using technology to aid in transparency, digital surveillance systems were reportedly utilized extensively to curb unfair practices. Additionally, Corona-safe protocols have been strictly implemented at every examination center, ensuring the health and safety of students and staff.
This year’s focus from the Andhra Pradesh Board of Secondary Education has been on upholding exam integrity while prioritizing a safe environment due to the ongoing public health considerations. In his press statement, Director Vijay Rama Raju emphasized the importance of these measures in guaranteeing that the exams are not only fair but also conducive to a positive testing atmosphere. The flying squad inspections are part of a larger strategy to uphold these standards across all centers in the state.
As the first day wrapped up seamlessly, the anticipation builds for the remaining days of the crucial SSC examinations. With the examinations scheduled to continue until the end of March, both educators and parents remain hopeful for a successful completion, celebrating the hard work and preparation that have led the students to this pivotal moment in their academic journeys.
This high attendance and operational smoothness reflect the dedication of not only the students but also the administrative and teaching staff committed to shaping the educational future of Andhra Pradesh. With this robust start, the SSC examinations have set an exemplary standard, promised to continue with the same integrity and dedication throughout the exam season.
