Boosting Travel Connections: NFR Unveils Exciting New Train Roster
As the festive season of Holi approaches, Indian Railways is taking measures to ensure a smoother travel experience for its passengers. In a bid to combat the surge in passenger traffic during this period, the North Eastern Railway (NFR) has decided to operate additional special trains on crucial routes.
Effective immediately, seven more pairs of Holi special trains will be in operation between New Delhi and Katihar, Anand Vihar Terminal and Jogbani, New Delhi and Kamakhya, and Chandigarh and Katihar. These special trains will make a single trip, offering commuters enhanced connectivity and improved travel options. The increased frequency of trains is expected to reduce congestion and alleviate the burden on regular trains.
According to Kapinjal Kishore Sharma, Chief Public Relations Officer, NFR, the stoppage details and timings of these special trains are available on the Indian Railways Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) website, as well as in newspapers and the NFR’s social media platforms. Passengers are advised to check the details before traveling.
Notably, train numbers 04072 and 04071 will operate between New Delhi and Katihar, while train numbers 04074 and 04073 will run between Anand Vihar Terminal and Jogbani. Train numbers 04076 and 04075 will connect New Delhi and Kamakhya, and train numbers 04078 and 04077 will operate between Katihar and New Delhi. Additionally, train numbers 04080 and 04079 will run between Anand Vihar Terminal and Jogbani, and train numbers 04084 and 04083 will connect New Delhi and Kamakhya.
Meanwhile, train numbers 04508 and 04507 will run between Chandigarh Jn. and Katihar, respectively. These special trains will depart at various times, with some trains departing from New Delhi, Anand Vihar Terminal, and Kamakhya. The schedules of these special trains are as follows:
Train no. 04072 departed New Delhi at 14:45 hours on March 12, reaching Katihar the next day. Train no. 04071 departed Katihar at 18:45 hours on March 13, reaching New Delhi the next day.
Train no. 04074 departed Anand Vihar Terminal at 19:00 hours on March 12, reaching Jogbani the next day. Train no. 04073 will depart from Jogbani at 06:40 hours on March 14, reaching Anand Vihar Terminal the next day. Train no. 04076 departed New Delhi at 19:15 hours on March 12, reaching Kamakhya the next day. Train no. 04075 will depart Kamakhya at 16:00 hours on March 15, reaching New Delhi on the next day.
The increased frequency of these special trains is expected to provide a smoother travel experience for passengers traveling to and from the North Eastern states, which are a popular destination for many during the Holi festival.
