Breaking: BSF Personnel Injured, Bangladeshi Smuggler Killed in Clash on India-Bangladesh Border
Tripura, India – March 1, 2023
A group of 20-25 Bangladeshi miscreants, allegedly involved in smuggling activities with Indian accomplices, ventured into Indian territory in Tripura’s Sepahijala district on February 28. The intrusion, which began at around 7:30 pm, near BP Ref-2050/7-S in the BOP Putia area, took a violent turn, leaving one BSF jawan injured.
According to eyewitnesses, the group initially clashed with a BSF patrol party, prompting the BSF personnel to caution them. However, the miscreants refused to back down, attacking the BSF personnel and causing serious injuries to one jawan. The injured BSF personnel were hospitalized and are currently undergoing treatment.
In a desperate bid to protect themselves, BSF personnel fired a non-lethal round from a PAG gun in self-defense, striking one of the Bangladeshi intruders. Unfortunately, the injured Bangladeshi national later succumbed to his injuries, becoming the only fatality in the incident.
