Important Alert: Crucial Traffic Restrictions in Guwahati Unveiled for February 24-26!
In anticipation of the major events “Jhumoir Binandini” and “Advantage Assam 2.0,” occurring from February 24 to 26, 2025, the Guwahati Traffic Police has announced a comprehensive set of traffic regulations. These measures are designed to enhance public safety, facilitate smooth traffic flow, and ensure the unobstructed operation of emergency services.
For the Sarusajai Sports Complex, where “Jhumoir Binandini” will be held, specific entry and parking protocols have been established. GOLD Pass holders will enter through Gate No. 1B, with vehicles parked near the Indoor Stadium. DROP-OFF Pass holders also use Gate No. 1B, with parking at the AEGCL Parking via Gate No. 4. Essential Service vehicles, identified by GREEN Passes, are granted access through Gate No. 1B. Event attendees holding invitations or cards can enter on foot through Gate No. 1C. Importantly, the stretch from Koinadhara to Jalukbari is designated as a no-escort/pilot vehicle zone.
At the Khanapara Veterinary Field for the “Advantage Assam 2.0 Summit,” SAFFRON and GOLD Pass holders are directed to enter through specific gates, with parking arranged at the Regional Science Centre Campus and behind the Veterinary College Field, respectively. Liaison officers’ vehicles have designated parking at the Sericulture Field. Other pass holders, including SILVER, BRONZE, BLUE, and GREEN passes, have specified alighting and parking areas. Post-VVIP departure, Gate No. 10 will be available for use.
To accommodate the influx of visitors and ensure efficient traffic flow, commercial vehicle operation will be restricted. On February 24, from 7:00 AM to 11:30 PM, all commercial goods vehicles, including those with four wheels or more, are banned from NH-27 and NH-17. Additionally, three-wheeler commercial vehicles are prohibited on key roads. Similar restrictions will apply from 6:00 AM to 10:00 PM on February 25-26 on major routes.
The Guwahati Traffic Police advises commuters to plan ahead and cooperate for a successful implementation of these landmark events.
