Historic and Sacred: Himanta Biswa Sarma’s Transformative Holy Dip at Triveni Sangam Today
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma participated in the ongoing Maha Kumbh by taking a holy dip at the Triveni Sangam on February 21. He announced his participation through his official X handle, expressing his intent to seek blessings from the sacred confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna, and Saraswati rivers. Sarma’s post, which included the phrase “Har Har Mahadev,” highlighted his reverence for the spiritual significance of the event.
The ongoing Maha Kumbh, noted as the world’s largest spiritual and cultural gathering, began on January 13, 2025, with the Paush Purnima and will conclude on February 26. As per the UP Information Department, more than 555.6 million devotees have taken part in the event, with over 3.09 million dipping in the sacred waters by Wednesday morning.
Prominent figures such as Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, and UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, alongside several union ministers and celebrities, have also participated in the ritual at Triveni Sangam. The Maha Kumbh stands as a monumental spiritual event, drawing millions to its historic and religious proceedings.
