Triumphant Re-Release: Sanam Teri Kasam’s Emotional Journey Surpasses Rs 30 Crore Mark on Day 11!
Sanam Teri Kasam, a 2016 romantic drama featuring Harshvardhan Rane and Mawra Hocane, has made a remarkable comeback at the box office with its re-release. Released on February 18, 2025, the film is captivating audiences once again, as it navigates its second run in theaters. Surprisingly, the emotional narrative of the film, helmed by the creative duo Radhika Rao and Vinay Sapru, has garnered significant traction, crossing the Rs 30-crore mark by the 11th day of its re-release.
Initially released in 2016, Sanam Teri Kasam was a commercial disappointment, struggling to recoup its Rs 14 crore budget with a lifetime collection of just Rs 9.11 crore. However, its revival has been nothing short of extraordinary, managing to captivate movie-goers anew and making a solid splash at the box office. Chhaava, starring Vicky Kaushal, has posed stiff competition, but Sanam Teri Kasam continues to stand its ground admirably.
In its re-release debut week, the film achieved a robust Rs 26.4 crore collection, setting the stage for a hopeful run towards a Rs 50 crore nett collection. While the second weekend saw a slight dip in earnings due to the concurrent release of Chhaava, it still adds to its total, reaching a formidable Rs 30.95 crore in India by February 17, 2025. The film earned an additional Rs 1 crore on this day alone.
Produced by Deepak Mukut and featuring noteworthy performances by debutants Rane and Hocane, along with Anurag Sinha, Manish Chaudhari, Murli Sharma, and Sudesh Berry, the film is a modern take on the legendary love story of Shiva-Sati and inspired by Eric Segal’s novel, Love Story. Sanam Teri Kasam’s re-release success story underscores that some films, like timeless tales, have a way of connecting with audiences when revisited at the right moment.
