Adani Group Commits Rs 2,000 Crore to Transform Education with World-Class Schools of Excellence Across India
Ahmedabad, Feb 17: Gautam Adani, Chairperson of the Adani Group, has announced a significant educational initiative aimed at establishing world-class Schools of Excellence across India. This effort, initiated with an initial donation of Rs 2,000 crore from the Adani family, seeks to make quality education both affordable and accessible to all sections of society.
In collaboration with GEMS Education, a renowned international K-12 school network, the Adani Foundation plans to open the first Adani GEMS School of Excellence in Lucknow for the 2025-26 academic year. This venture aims to launch at least 20 schools over the next three years, focusing on primary metropolitan areas as well as Tier II to IV cities. These institutions will reserve 30% of their seats in the CBSE curriculum for underprivileged children, offering them free education.
This educational endeavor is a part of the Adani Group’s broader Rs 10,000 crore social donation initiative, which also includes Rs 6,000 crore dedicated to Adani Health Cities in collaboration with the Mayo Clinic, and Rs 2,000 crore for developing skilled talent through partnership with ITE Education Services of Singapore.
The alliance between Adani Foundation and GEMS Education aims to leverage Adani’s infrastructure prowess and GEMS’ educational expertise to create a scalable and sustainable model of quality education. This initiative underscores a commitment to cultivating a new generation of socially responsible leaders by integrating global best practices and innovative digital learning.
Sunny Varkey, Founder and Chairman of GEMS Education, emphasized the shared vision of providing quality education to learners irrespective of their socio-economic background. The partnership is poised to enhance educational opportunities across diverse Indian regions, combining a global curriculum with the rich academic traditions of Indian study boards.
