Join the Inspiring NECAP 2025 Movement in Tezpur: Raising Vital Awareness for Cancer and Autism
Tezpur is gearing up to host NECAP 2025, the North-East Community Awareness Plenary, a pivotal event aimed at enhancing awareness about cancer and autism. Scheduled for February 23, 2025, at Tezpur College, this landmark initiative is orchestrated by the Viswapragna Foundation in partnership with Tezpur College, Darrang College, the Indian Society of Medical and Paediatric Oncology (ISMPO), and the Indian Society of Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology (ISCCP).
NECAP 2025 seeks to deepen scientific understanding, dispel prevalent myths, and bolster community participation in tackling challenges related to oncology and autism. The event will witness participation from esteemed medical experts, caregivers, and community advocates, aiming to connect scientific insights with public awareness.
The oncology segment will feature eminent oncologists, including Dr. Raghunadha Rao Digumarti, a B.C. Roy Awardee and ex-director of Tata Memorial Hospital, and Dr. Sujit Kumar Mullapally from Apollo Chennai. Topics of discussion will include lifestyle factors affecting cancer, preventive vaccinations, and palliative care, alongside debunking myths such as the notion that biopsies spread cancer and diet-based cancer cures.
In the realm of autism, experts like Dr. Naresh Kalakota from NIMHANS and Dr. Priyadarshee Abhishek from LGBRIMH will lead sessions on early symptom identification, managing coexisting conditions, and improving communication strategies for children with autism. Insights from caregivers, highlighted by Shri Monalisa Ray’s experiences, will offer a practical perspective on autism management.
More than just a medical event, NECAP 2025 will engage professionals from diverse fields, including teachers, lawyers, law enforcement officials, and vendors, fostering a multidisciplinary dialogue on health advocacy and social inclusivity. Dr. Venkata Pradeep Babu Koyyala, director of the Viswapragna Foundation, will spearhead the oncology track, while Dr. Pavani Medisetty, a renowned anesthesiologist, will lead the autism awareness sessions.
