Crucial BJP Legislature Meeting in Delhi: Unveiling Key Strategies this Sunday!
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is preparing for its first Legislature Party meeting on Sunday, as reported by party insiders. This crucial gathering will include the 48 newly-elected Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs) and will be chaired by two senior figures from the BJP national leadership tasked with guiding the selection of the new Chief Minister and Cabinet members.
Since Saturday, intense discussions have been underway between key figures from the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and the BJP regarding the formation of the government and the makeup of Delhi’s seven-member Council of Ministers. Notable participants in these talks include Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, and BJP’s national general secretary (organisation) B L Santhosh.
Sources reveal that a Parliamentary Board meeting will likely lead to the appointment of observers—possibly chief ministers from other BJP-ruled states or senior MPs—to supervise the proceedings and finalize decisions on approximately ten major governmental and administrative positions.
In a separate development, the Delhi BJP leadership is set to conduct an extensive meeting on Wednesday with over 40 committees. This session will analyze election results and examine the party’s losses in 22 constituencies.
The potential Cabinet might comprise one MLA from each of Delhi’s seven Lok Sabha seats, balancing caste considerations as decided by the RSS and BJP leaderships. A senior Sikh MLA, possibly Arvinder Singh Lovely or Manjinder Singh Sirsa, and at least one woman minister, are likely inclusions, with the possibility of a woman MLA taking the Deputy Speaker role.
Kailash Gangwal, Ravinder Indraj Singh, Raj Kumar Chauhan, and Ravi Kant could represent Scheduled Caste MLAs in the Cabinet, while senior leaders from the Baniya community like Rekha Gupta, Vijender Gupta, and Tilak Ram Gupta may secure key roles. Additionally, with 10 Jat MLAs elected, ensuring balanced community representation in top posts presents a challenge for the BJP.
