Sneha Ullal, an actress who once drew comparisons to Aishwarya Rai due to her striking resemblance and captivating eyes, experienced a tumultuous journey in Bollywood. Despite being hailed as Aishwarya’s lookalike, Sneha’s career didn’t mirror the success of the Bollywood icon.
Sneha Ullal was born and raised in Muscat, Oman, to a Tulu Devadiga family, with her roots tracing back to Mangalore from her father’s side and a Sindhi lineage from her mother. Sneha moved to Mumbai for her education, attending Durelo Convent High School and later Vartak College.
In the early 2000s, Sneha’s Bollywood break came with the support of Salman Khan, who recommended her after his split with Aishwarya Rai. This led to her debut in “Lucky: No Time For Love” (2005), starring alongside Salman. Despite the film’s anticipation, it did not perform well at the box office. Sneha then featured in films like “Aryan” and “Kaashh… Mere Hote,” but she struggled to leave a significant mark in Bollywood.
Finding limited success in Hindi films, Sneha transitioned to the Telugu cinema industry, where her debut, “Ullasamga Utsahamga,” was a blockbuster hit, establishing her career in regional cinema. However, her journey was not without challenges. Sneha battled an autoimmune disorder that severely impacted her health, compelling her to pause her career for treatment. In an interview with Bangalore Mirror, she revealed: “My body would become so weak that I could not stand on my feet for more than 30 to 40 minutes.”
Over her career span, Sneha has worked with renowned figures like Salman Khan and Allu Arjun. Although her Bollywood journey was brief, her transition to regional cinema remains a testament to her resilience and adaptability in the entertainment industry.
