Transformative Journey: Pegu’s Inspiring Third Phase Gunotsav Review in Silchar – Empowering Schools and Engaging Students
State Education Minister Ranoj Pegu conducted a comprehensive visit to numerous schools in Assam’s Cachar district as part of the ongoing third and final phase of Gunotsav 2025. During his visit, Pegu engaged in activities at several educational institutions, including Narsing Higher Secondary School in Silchar. He attended the morning assembly, interacted with students and teachers, evaluated the academic environment, and recommended improvements, which energized the school community and emphasized the importance of quality education.
At M M Balika Vidyalaya, Pegu assessed students’ skills in English, Bengali, and Hindi, encouraging innovative and student-focused teaching approaches. His visit to Nabakumar MES in Srikona highlighted his dedication to literacy and structured academic programs, enhancing the intellectual growth of students.
In the afternoon, Pegu visited Silchar Polytechnic Institute, focusing on the future of technical education. Through discussions with alumni, faculty, and students, he reviewed the institute’s infrastructure and academic strategies, stressing the need for more opportunities in engineering and vocational careers.
The tour concluded at Silchar Radha Madhav College, where Pegu was warmly received. He delivered a speech emphasizing the government’s commitment to academic excellence and holistic development. Gunotsav, an initiative aimed at improving the quality of education, involves students from various schooling systems across Assam, including government and specialized schools.
The first phase of Gunotsav 2025 took place in 11 districts from January 6-9, the second phase in 14 districts from January 19-22, and the third phase commenced on February 4, covering ten districts until February 7. This framework highlights the Assam government’s efforts to ensure a robust educational foundation for its younger population.
