Transformative Development Schemes Ignite Hope in Boko: Unveiling RHAC’s Ambitious 2024-25 Vision
Development projects have been launched across different council constituencies utilizing funds from the Rabha Hasong Autonomous Council’s (RHAC) 2024-25 financial year budget. This initiative aligns with the announcement made by Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma regarding RHAC elections set for March, ahead of Rongali Bihu.
To boost village development within the RHAC, councillors have rolled out various schemes. Notably, in 2 No. Jarapara-Kacharipara village under the 27 No. Boko Council Constituency, a football field is being constructed with iron posts. This project is spearheaded by Sumit Rabha, an executive councillor of RHAC.
During the inauguration, Sumit Rabha expressed, “We have begun several developmental works in Boko Council Constituency using the 2024-25 RHAC funds. With elections approaching in March, launching these schemes on February 2 ensures their momentum continues despite the electoral process.”
Since gaining control of the Council in 2013, Rabha noted significant strides have been made in addressing community needs, although challenges remain.
Similarly, Arjun Chetry, General Councillor of Jongakhuli CC, emphasized past developmental lags regionally post-India’s independence. However, with RHAC’s establishment in 2013, numerous initiatives have been launched.
In line with Boko CC’s efforts, Chetry unveiled several projects in Jongakhuli CC using the 2024-25 RHAC funds. These projects include building a boundary wall and gate for the Maitri Janajatiya Mahila Committee office and additional village improvements.
The launch event was attended by prominent figures such as Ankur Kakoti, ARSU Kamrup District Organizing Secretary, Sujit Rabha, ARSU Boko Regional Committee President, and Dibya Rabha, ARSU Boko Regional Committee Secretary, along with local villagers. These developments signify RHAC’s commitment to enhancing infrastructure and addressing the needs of its communities.
