Experience the Magic: Dibrugarh University Literary Festival Unites Over 120 Authors for a Global Literary Celebration
Dibrugarh University commenced its second Literary Festival with a vibrant opening on February 5, drawing a large crowd of literary aficionados and over 120 international writers. This year’s festival embraces the theme “Africa,” uniting novelists, poets, critics, essayists, and travelogue authors from over 25 countries across Asia, Africa, and Europe. The event is jointly organized by the Foundation for Culture, Arts & Literature (FOCAL) and Dibrugarh University.
In his welcoming remarks, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Jatin Hazarika acknowledged the contributions of FOCAL and its trustees, which include distinguished writers, filmmakers, and retired bureaucrats, for orchestrating this remarkable literary event in Eastern Assam.
The opening day featured ten engaging literary sessions distributed across five venues within the university, offering diverse discussions that captivated the audience. Participants also had the opportunity to view a special documentary on Africa, produced by the university’s students and faculty, highlighting the continent’s rich culture and technological advancements.
Prominent writers from African countries are participating in the event, sharing their insights and experiences in the literary world. The festival, spanning four days, promises a robust exchange of ideas and concludes on February 8.
With its diverse lineup and thematic focus, the festival offers a unique platform for cultural and literary exchange, fostering connections between writers and literature lovers from different continents.
