In an inspiring tale of perseverance and dedication, IPS officer Pooja Yadav’s journey stands as a testament to determination in the face of adversity. Born in 1998 in Sonipat, Haryana, Pooja’s academic credentials are impressive, having completed a B.Tech in Biotechnology followed by an M.Tech in Food Technology and Management. Despite securing a well-paid job overseas, with stints in Germany and Canada, Pooja felt a calling to contribute to her nation’s development.
Driven by a profound passion for her country, Pooja decided to tackle one of India’s most challenging exams—the UPSC Civil Services Examination. Her first attempt didn’t lead to success, yet she remained undeterred. Demonstrating resilience, she cleared the exam in 2018 on her second attempt, securing an All India Rank of 174. Today, she serves with distinction as the Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) in Rajkot, Gujarat. Her commitment to strict enforcement of traffic regulations has earned her commendation.
On the personal front, Pooja’s journey saw a beautiful addition when she married Vikalp Bhardwaj, an IAS officer from the Kerala cadre, in 2021. The couple met during their training at the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration in Mussoorie.
