Explosive Revelation: BJP’s Sambit Patra Accuses AAP MLA Somnath Bharti of Shocking Delhi Land Scam
Ahead of the February 5 Delhi Assembly election, BJP National Spokesperson and MP Sambit Patra leveled serious accusations against AAP’s Malviya Nagar MLA Somnath Bharti. At a press conference on Sunday, Patra alleged Bharti’s involvement in a land scam in the Jaitpur area of south-east Delhi. According to Patra, Bharti and his associate purportedly used forged documents to encroach on a landowner’s plot. Patra presented an audio clip, claiming it revealed Bharti advising a police officer to destroy a “seizure memo” relating to the case in exchange for a bribe.
Patra expanded his criticism to AAP, led by Arvind Kejriwal, accusing the party of engaging in corrupt practices, including bogus voting and bribing voters. He asserted that AAP has endemic corruption within its ranks, touching various sectors like the Delhi Jal Board and the DTC, among others. Patra claimed embezzlements running into thousands of crores, citing specific scams such as the Rs 29,000 crore Jal Board scam, the Rs 4,500 crore DTC bus scam, and the Rs 1,300 crore school classroom scandal.
Addressing Kejriwal’s earlier remarks against the BJP, Patra described Kejriwal’s language as evidence of his “frustration” and predicted a significant electoral defeat for him. Patra defended Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister, stating that their leadership would ensure protection for slum dwellers in Delhi, contrary to AAP’s claims that the BJP planned to demolish these communities. Patra reiterated Modi’s naming of AAP as ‘AAPda’, suggesting the party was created to “loot” and was ingrained with corruption.
The escalating rhetoric underscores the tense atmosphere as the election approaches, with allegations flying between the major political players on the Delhi stage.
