Transforming Lives: Tripura Youth Forum’s Inspiring Mega Health Camp & Winter Clothing Drive in Remote Village
The South Tripura Youth Forum (STYF) recently celebrated Swami Vivekananda’s birth anniversary by embodying his principles of service and compassion through a significant community initiative. The Forum organized a comprehensive health camp and distributed winter clothing to the residents of Batisha Gram Panchayat, located in the Rajnagar RD Block of Tripura’s South District.
STYF, a diverse social organization from South District, has been actively involved in various community services, including supporting flood victims during recent devastating floods in the region. Batisha, nestled in the ‘Western Hills,’ is an area where many families struggle with poverty, relying on minimal daily wages and often lacking basic necessities such as warm clothing and proper nutrition, particularly affecting children.
In response to this dire need, STYF distributed 45 new blankets, 35 pairs of sandals, and 15 towels, as well as additional winter clothing for both children and the elderly. This initiative aims to provide some relief and comfort to those who endure such harsh living conditions.
The event also featured a mega health camp conducted by a skilled medical team, offering services like blood sugar testing, hemoglobin level checks, and blood pressure monitoring. With support from health workers, pharmacists, nurses, and lab technicians, along with contributions from pharmaceutical collaborators in Agartala, a generous supply of medicines was made available free of cost, tailored to the specific needs of the patients.
Marking its first major health camp of 2025, following three after the 2024 floods, and its eighth clothing distribution effort, STYF prides itself on reaching those in need. The Forum is committed to expanding its outreach across South Tripura, inspired by Swami Vivekananda’s teachings. They expressed gratitude to their supporters, reiterating that true social service means standing by those in need and pledging continued efforts to bring warmth and care into more lives.
