Empower Your Future: Inspiring Youth to Transform Tomorrow on Vivekananda’s Birth Anniversary
On the occasion of National Youth Day, marking Swami Vivekananda’s 162nd birth anniversary, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma inspired young people to rekindle India’s status as a Vishwa Guru. Addressing various events in Guwahati, he emphasized the importance of Swami Vivekananda’s teachings, which encourage learning from history to build a bright future.
Highlighting India’s rich heritage, Sarma stated, “A generation that lacks pride in its past cannot build its future.” He urged the youth to draw inspiration from Swami Vivekananda to forge a new Bharat by merging the past’s wisdom with future aspirations.
In a rally held in Jalukbari’s Changsari, Sarma celebrated Assam’s remarkable transformation. He praised the state’s educational advancements, noting an increase from minimal infrastructure to 20 universities, 14 medical colleges, 16 engineering colleges, and prestigious institutions like IIT, AIIMS, and IIM.
Reflecting on Assam’s turbulent past, Sarma recounted, “Between 1985 and the 2000s, newspapers were filled with news of explosions and communal discord. Bribes were commonplace for government jobs.” Today, however, opportunities are earned through merit and hard work, showcasing a significant shift towards stability.
The Chief Minister highlighted the role of technology, urging youth to embrace artificial intelligence and other advancements. “Artificial intelligence is shaping the future. I encourage Assam’s youth to learn about AI and use it productively,” he declared, emphasizing the potential of AI and 3D printing for development.
In conclusion, Chief Minister Sarma’s address blended a recognition of Assam’s progress with a call to action for its youth. He encouraged them to follow Swami Vivekananda’s vision, aiming to propel both the state and the nation toward a more innovative and prosperous future.
