Heartwarming Relief: Indian Army’s Lifesaving Medical Camp Transforms Tinsukia, Assam
As part of Operation Sadbhavana, the Indian Army organized a medical camp on December 30 in the remote villages of Kengia, Mulling, and Hanju Gaon in Tinsukia district, Assam. The initiative, aimed at improving healthcare access in these underserved areas, was facilitated by a team comprising an Army doctor and two civilian healthcare professionals. The camp provided vital healthcare services, consultations, and medical check-ups to the local population, as well as free distribution of medicines. Importantly, doctors took the opportunity to educate residents on preventive health practices, benefitting approximately 860 individuals across all age groups. This effort highlights the Army’s continuous commitment to enhancing the well-being of communities in remote regions.
In related efforts, on December 17, the General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the Spear Corps visited the Special National Integration Camp in Wokha, Nagaland, organised by the National Cadet Corps (NCC). The camp was designed to promote unity and national integration among young people from various parts of the country. During the visit, the GOC interacted with NCC cadets, commending their dedication and discipline. The occasion also saw the GOC inaugurating the Nagaland State Day celebrations, emphasizing the state’s rich cultural heritage and its valuable contributions to the nation.
Both these initiatives reflect the Indian Army’s ongoing dedication not only to national security but also to societal well-being and unity. By addressing healthcare needs and promoting national integration, the Army is playing a crucial role in fostering a stronger, healthier, and more cohesive India.
