Miracle Survival: Azerbaijan Airlines Plane Crash in Kazakhstan Spares 29 Lives, Including 2 Children | World News
An Azerbaijani flight with 67 passengers crashed in Kazakhstan on Wednesday, leaving 38 dead and 29 survivors, including two children. The rescue operation, described as extensive by Kazakhstan’s Deputy Prime Minister Kanat Bozumbaev, revealed that 11 of the survivors are critically injured. Bozumbaev noted the challenges in identifying victims as many bodies were severely burned, and all were transported to a morgue for identification. The Azerbaijan Airlines Embraer 190, enroute to Grozny, Russia, was diverted due to fog and caught fire during an emergency landing attempt near Aktau. Disturbing footage showed the plane’s charred remains and bloodied survivors amidst smoke. Most survivors were Azerbaijani, alongside Russian, Kazakh, and Kyrgyz nationals. The identity of one unconscious survivor remains unknown as she lacks identification documents and remains hospitalized. According to Flightradar24, the flight embarked from Baku at 03:55 GMT and crashed at 06:28. Officials confirm the black box has been recovered, promising further investigation into the crash’s causes. None of the survivors were Kazakh nationals, said authorities. The incident underscores the perils of adverse weather conditions during air travel and highlights the importance of precise emergency protocols in aviation.
