Tragic Loss at Nagaland’s Hornbill Festival: UK Tourist’s Sudden Passing Casts Shadow on Celebrated Event
A 67-year-old tourist from the United Kingdom tragically passed away due to cardiac arrest while attending the Hornbill Festival in Nagaland. The incident occurred on Saturday night, as confirmed by local police on Sunday. The tourist experienced severe chest pain while at the festival site located in Naga Heritage Village, Kisama.
Immediate medical assistance was sought at a health camp established at the location. Recognizing the severity of the situation, the attending doctors recommended urgent hospitalization. The tourist was promptly transported to a private medical facility in Kohima, located approximately 12 kilometers from the festival site. Despite the concerted medical efforts made by the healthcare professionals, the individual succumbed to the condition later that night.
The Nagaland authorities are cooperating closely with the British High Commission to ensure the swift repatriation of the deceased’s body back to the United Kingdom.
