Kiren Rijiju Champions India’s Minority Welfare Amidst EVM Controversy: A Bold Stance for Justice
At a recent event at the Dr. Ambedkar International Centre, Union Minister Kiren Rijiju underscored India’s exceptional dedication to the welfare of minority communities. Rijiju announced a new step forward with a signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Dalit Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (DICCI) and the National Minority Development Finance Corporation (NMDFC). This alliance is set to provide crucial financial aid to minority communities, with a focus on Dalit and tribal groups, to enhance economic empowerment and inclusivity.
Rijiju highlighted, “This MoU will ensure financial assistance to minority communities, including Dalit and tribal populations,” while asserting that no other nation matches India’s commitment to its minorities.
Switching gears to political discourse, Rijiju addressed recent criticisms from the Congress party concerning electronic voting machines (EVMs). He dismissed their claims, attributing them to Congress’s inability to accept defeat in Maharashtra. He further remarked, “They view winning 99 seats in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections as a significant achievement, but it is far from a victory.”
The remarks highlight a dual focus on strengthening minority welfare initiatives while engaging in the ongoing political debate over election processes.
