Empowering Hope: Army’s Life-Changing Medical Camps Benefit Villages in Manipur’s Bishnupur and Churachandpur
The Indian Army, in collaboration with District Medical Authorities, held medical camps on November 29 and 30 in the villages of Bishnupur and Churachandpur districts. This initiative aimed at providing much-needed healthcare services to local communities featured a team comprising Army doctors, lady doctors, a gynecologist, and facilities for blood testing. Over the two-day span, more than 813 individuals from various age groups benefited from these camps through comprehensive health check-ups and the distribution of essential medications.
The camps were strategically organized at T Kananphai village in Siden, Churachandpur district, on November 29, and at the Community Hall Saiton Bazaar in the Bishnupur district on November 30. This effort underscores the Army’s ongoing commitment to enhancing the well-being of local communities, providing timely medical assistance and contributing to overall safer and healthier environments.
This initiative follows in the footsteps of previous outreach efforts by the Assam Rifles, who conducted several Mega Medical Camps to support communities affected by conflict and displacement and facing a fragile healthcare system. These larger camps, which spanned three days across various state districts, successfully reached and directly aided approximately 6,750 people, receiving an overwhelmingly positive response from the community.
By engaging in these medical outreach programs, the Indian Army and related military branches continue to play a pivotal role in supporting healthcare delivery in remote and underserved areas, significantly impacting community health and welfare.
