Transformational Triumph: Tripura CM Unveils Ambitious UNNATI 2024 Plan to Ignite Industry Growth and Create 83,000 Thriving Jobs

In a recent state-level workshop at Pragna Bhaban, Agartala, Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha underscored the transformative potential of the UNNATI 2024 scheme for the state’s industrial sector. This event, held on November 11, was organized through a collaboration between the state’s Department of Industries and Commerce and the central Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade. It centered on promoting economic growth and job creation across the northeastern region.

Chief Minister Saha highlighted the ambitious objectives of the UNNATI 2024 scheme, which seeks to generate 83,000 jobs over the next decade with a significant investment of Rs 10,037 crore. Tripura, categorized under the scheme’s B category, will extend incentives to businesses with investments exceeding Rs 1 crore.

“Our efforts in enhancing ease of doing business have been on the rise since 2018. With over 2.1 lakh MSMEs currently operating in the state, providing employment to nearly 3 lakh people, we are uniquely positioned for further development,” Saha remarked, envisioning the scheme as a catalyst for industrial advancement in Tripura.

The UNNATI initiative is a component of a larger strategy aimed at industrializing the northeastern ‘Uttar Poorav’ states, striving to establish a competitive market atmosphere and attract external investments to Tripura. Registration for the scheme commenced on March 9 and will remain open until March 31, 2026, offering potential investors ample time to explore and capitalize on the available opportunities.

The workshop also witnessed the participation of notable state officials, including Vishwasree B., Director of Industries and Commerce, and Kiran Gitte, Secretary of the Department of Industries and Commerce. Both officials emphasized the importance of harmonious collaboration between state and central entities to propel industrial development and attract strategic investments into the northeastern region. This comprehensive approach is expected to bolster Tripura’s industrial potential and economic prosperity.
