Manipur Police Triumph: Dramatic Raid Captures Four KYKL Members and Rescues Two Hostages
Manipur Police executed a meticulously planned raid linked to the abduction and assault case of a 23-year-old railway driver, Joshua Kamei, hailing from Kambiron (Puiluan Village), Noney. This strategic operation was carried out on November 7 at a suspected hideout in Urup Mayai Leikai, Imphal East District.
During the raid, four members linked to the banned group KYKL (SOREPA) were apprehended. The individuals arrested were identified as Hijam Nikhil Singh, 27; Hijam Thanglen Meitei, 30; Thongam Ningthem Singh, 32; and Gobin Elangbam, 29. This significant breakthrough underscores the ongoing efforts to clamp down on criminal activities in the region.
The police successfully seized several incriminating items from the premises, enhancing the weight of the case against those arrested. Among the items recovered were one self-loading rifle (SLR), a .303 rifle, two Maruti Gypsy vehicles, and various other incriminating materials.
