Shocking Discovery in Manipur: Brave Heroes Safely Diffuse Two Recovered Grenades in Ukhrul!

Imphal: Over the past 24 hours, the Manipur Police Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad successfully defused two explosive devices found in different locations within Ukhrul district, a region affected by unrest. According to official reports, the Ukhrul police received alerts about explosive threats in strategic areas of the district.

The first incident occurred on Wednesday at approximately 9:30 am when a grenade was discovered at the entrance of the Zonal Education Office in Ukhrul. In response, the state police, along with Assam Rifles, promptly secured the area to ensure public safety. Bomb disposal experts from the Manipur Police headquarters in Imphal were dispatched to the site, where they successfully neutralized the device by 4:20 pm.

In a separate incident on Tuesday, during a local roadside cleanliness drive in Ngangkhalawai village under the jurisdiction of Moirang police station, another grenade was found. The device, which lacked a detonator, was retrieved by bomb experts upon notification.

Both explosive recoveries have prompted police investigations, with cases already registered to uncover further details about their origins. These incidents highlight ongoing concerns about security in Manipur, emphasizing the need for vigilant monitoring and swift action by law enforcement agencies to protect public safety.
