Imphal: RNSOM Condemns Assault on Railway Driver by Alleged Extremists
The Rongmei Naga Students’ Organization Manipur (RNSOM) has issued a strong condemnation regarding the assault of a 23-year-old railway driver, Joshua Kamei, from Noney District. The incident, allegedly perpetrated by members of the Arambai Tenggol (AT) group, occurred on Tuesday, November 5. Kamei, hailing from Kambiron (Puiluan) village, was reportedly taken near the Kheikhu Kabui Khul Gate in Imphal East and subsequently subjected to severe torture and aggressive interrogation at the group’s camp.
RNSOM has decried the attack as a grave violation of human rights, emphasizing that it undermines the dignity and security of the Naga community. Following this distressing event, the organization has issued a list of demands, urging authorities to take swift and decisive action. Their demands include an immediate cessation of violent activities by extremist groups, along with a thorough investigation to ensure justice for Kamei.
