Actor and Shiv Sena leader Govinda was recently hospitalized after a mishap where he accidentally shot himself while handling his licensed revolver at home. This incident took place around 4:45 AM on October 1. While placing the gun in a cupboard, it fell, causing a bullet to discharge and hit his leg. Govinda was swiftly admitted to CritiCare Hospital in Mumbai, where medical professionals removed the bullet and treated his injury.
Following several days of care at the hospital, Govinda was discharged and is now recuperating at home. As part of his recovery process, doctors have advised him to rest, which led to him missing out on this year’s Diwali celebrations. His wife, Sunita Ahuja, addressed the media, ensuring fans that Govinda is recovering well. She explained, “Sir (Govinda) is doing well and he has been advised rest, which is why he isn’t celebrating Diwali this year.” She further added that she celebrated the festival with their children instead.
Govinda’s son, Yashvardhan Ahuja, also communicated the actor’s progress to the public. Speaking outside a party, he mentioned that his father’s stitches have been removed and joked that Govinda would be back to dancing soon, illuminating his famed enthusiasm for life and performance.
Shortly after the accidental shooting, Govinda released a heartfelt voice note thanking his fans for their prayers and expressing gratitude to the doctors, particularly Dr. Agarwal, who managed his case. “Thanks to your blessings, my parents’ blessings, and the grace of my guru, I was shot, but the bullet has been taken out,” Govinda assured his worried fans.
