Unlocking Potential: How Personalization Fuels Thriving Education | MorungExpress
G. Rio School students delivered a special presentation at the 42nd Annual General Body Meeting (AGBM) of the All Nagaland Private Schools’ Association Central (ANPSA Central) in Kohima on October 29. The event, held at the Kevilhouü Rio Auditorium, featured Amit Chandra, CEO of the Center for Civil Societies (CCS) in New Delhi, as the keynote speaker. Chandra emphasized that India’s educational advancement depends on personalized rather than standardized education, which private schools are uniquely positioned to provide. He highlighted how private institutions are directly accountable to parents and responsive to students’ needs, claiming they offer a “culture of passion and love,” in contrast to government schools, which often prioritize bureaucratic accountability.
Chandra critiqued government schools’ reliance on standardized education, suggesting this hampers their capacity and efficiency due to governance issues. He stressed the urgency of educational reform to align with Prime Minister Modi’s vision for 2047, proposing a State School Standards Authority (SSSA) in each state to ensure regulatory neutrality and quality education across all schools. He specified that the SSSA should be led by an educationist and include representation from private schools to maintain balanced oversight.
Furthermore, Chandra underlined Direct Benefit Transfers (DBTs) as a practical solution to financially support underprivileged students in private schools, advocating that the state has a duty to ensure every child receives quality education. While acknowledging unethical practices in some private schools, he urged attendees to focus on the substantial contributions private schools make to India’s educational landscape. The meeting concluded with a business session led by Abalie Medoze, Joint Secretary of ANPSA Central, which fostered dialogue on educational improvements.
