In a strategic move to revitalize India’s startup manufacturing ecosystem, the government has partnered with HCLSoftware, a global software solutions leader. Announced on October 26 in New Delhi, this collaboration is part of the ‘Manufacturing Incubation Initiative’ and aims to propel Indian startups onto the international stage through the ‘HCL SYNC’ program. This initiative provides startups with the opportunity to showcase their products globally, aligning with India’s aspiration to become a major manufacturing hub.
The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) emphasized that this partnership represents a significant advancement for the Indian manufacturing sector. DPIIT Joint Secretary Sanjiv Singh highlighted the department’s dedication to nurturing innovation, reinforcing Indian businesses’ position in the global market.
The initiative is a cornerstone of India’s ‘Make in India’ campaign, aiming to develop unique Indian intellectual property, enhance product quality to meet global standards, and strengthen the manufacturing ecosystem. This will be achieved by fostering a network of startups and suppliers that can support the entire manufacturing value chain.
Kalyan Kumar, Chief Product Officer at HCLSoftware, remarked that this collaboration marks a pivotal moment in India’s manufacturing journey. He affirmed HCLSoftware’s commitment to driving innovation and economic growth, underpinning India’s vision of becoming a global manufacturing powerhouse.
This effort is part of the broader ‘Startup India’ initiative, under which DPIIT has already signed over 80 memorandums of understanding (MoUs) with various industry stakeholders. Through such collaborations, the government is steadfast in its objective to support startups, innovators, and entrepreneurs, fortifying India’s position as a leader in the global manufacturing landscape.
