Shocking CCTV Footage: Intense Valley Attack Exposes Militants with M4 Carbine and AK-47 in Heart-Stopping 7-Minute Camp Siege
On October 20, a terror attack targeting employees of a construction firm occurred in Kashmir’s Ganderbal district. CCTV footage reveals two militants armed with an American-made M4 carbine assault rifle and an AK-47 arriving at the workers’ camp and spending approximately seven minutes before fleeing. The attackers demonstrated apparent familiarity with the area.
The assault, which claimed the lives of seven men, including six migrant laborers and a local doctor, took place around 7:25 PM at the camp. The victims were employed by APCO Infratech, engaged in the construction of the Z-Morh tunnel on the Srinagar-Sonamarg highway. The camp is strategically located amidst barren mountains and the Srinagar-Leh highway.
Senior police officers, along with officials from the National Investigation Agency, quickly responded to the scene. Notably, there were no CCTV cameras where the militants initially opened fire, but subsequent footage captures them entering the camp, shooting indiscriminately, and attacking the mess hall.
During the chaos, a grenade was placed in a vehicle by the assailants before they shot the driver, escalating the panic as workers initially mistook the gunfire for firecrackers. Around 37-40 spent cartridges were retrieved from the scene.
Investigations reveal that the militants were aided by a local handler who possibly conducted reconnaissance prior to the attack. Efforts are underway by security agencies and local police to identify the attackers and their local contacts. Authorities are questioning villagers and scouring databases for leads. The attackers targeted illuminated areas, as the camp’s power supply was cut during the assault, further adding to the chaos.
