At the National Para-Swimming Championship in Panaji, Rajasthan’s Lakhan Singh delivered a standout performance by clinching gold in the men’s S4 100m freestyle event. Kamalkant from Odisha captured the silver, while Balraj from Haryana took home the bronze. In the S5 100m freestyle, Odisha’s Narhari emerged victorious, narrowly edging out Andhra Pradesh’s Lakshmarao, who secured silver, and Bihar’s Shams Aalam, who claimed bronze.
The championship witnessed Maharashtra’s Chaitanya Vishwas showcasing his dominance by winning gold in the S6 100m freestyle category. Karnataka also put forth a stellar display, with Tejas and Shridhar triumphing in the S7 and S8 categories, respectively, affirming their region’s strength in the sport.
The S9 and S10 categories highlighted remarkable athletic prowess with gold medals going to Karnataka’s Sahil Rajaram and Kapil Kumar from the Services.
