Empowering Change: Revolutionary ‘Tobacco Free Youth Campaign 2.0’ Unites Hailakandi’s Forces for a Healthier Future
The Department of Health and Family Welfare has introduced the “Tobacco Free Youth Campaign 2.0” to combat tobacco use among young individuals. This initiative aims to highlight the harmful impacts of tobacco, particularly targeting youth awareness. The campaign is set to execute at least 30 initiatives focused on information, education, and communication (IEC). Additionally, it plans to certify 160 educational institutions as Tobacco-Free Educational Institutions (ToFEI) and carry out a minimum of 16 enforcement operations. Furthermore, the campaign seeks to declare 20 villages in each district as tobacco-free zones.
The use of social media will be pivotal, with hashtags like #SaveTheYouthCampaign and #AbSeBandCampaign fostering online engagement and spreading the campaign’s message widely. For those seeking to quit tobacco, support is available through the National Tobacco Quitline at 1800-112-356.
This comprehensive effort aims not just to reduce tobacco consumption but also to create environments where young people can thrive without the shadow of tobacco-related harm.
