In a recent development, Baba Siddique, an NCP leader, was fatally shot near the office of his son, MLA Zeeshan Siddique, in Nirmal Nagar, Mumbai’s Bandra area. As the murder investigation continues, the number of arrests has climbed to nine, following raids in Panvel and Karjat in Raigad district.
On October 18, Zeeshan Siddique, who had earlier urged for justice and cautioned against politicizing his father’s demise, took to social media platform X to share a cryptic message: “Not all that is hidden sleeps, Nor all that is visible speaks.” The same day, he met with Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis to discuss the police investigation into the killing of his father.
Simultaneously, allegations have surfaced from gang member Yogesh alias Raju, connected with the Lawrence Bishnoi-Hashim Baba gangs, although not involved in the murder, suggesting Baba Siddique had ties with notorious criminal Dawood Ibrahim, implicated in the 1993 Mumbai blasts.
In a related incident, security for actor Salman Khan was heightened after a threat letter demanded a ransom of Rs 5 crore from him, promising resolution of his issues with jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi. The threat ominously warned that if not complied with, Khan could face a worse fate than Siddique.
The unfolding incident underscores potential organized crime links and has elevated tensions, particularly with the mention of notable individuals like Dawood Ibrahim and Lawrence Bishnoi, while authorities and the public seek clarity and justice in the high-profile case.
