Nothing, the British consumer technology brand, will launch the Community Edition of its Phone 2a on October 30. The unveiling will take place during a Community Update event at 11:00 am GMT (4:30 pm IST), and it will be available for global viewing via live stream on Nothing’s official website.
The Phone 2a Community Edition is the result of the Nothing Community Edition Project, which unfolded over four stages involving hardware design, wallpaper creation, packaging, and marketing. The winning design, unveiled in May and named “Phosphorescence,” features a green-tinted, glow-in-the-dark back. This feature uses phosphorescent materials from the watch industry, glowing without a power source and recharging in daylight, offering practical use in low light settings.
Aside from design enhancements like exclusive wallpapers and new packaging, the Community Edition shares the same technical specifications as the standard Phone 2a. It includes a 6.7-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, a 50MP dual rear camera system, a 32MP front camera, and a MediaTek Dimensity 7200 Pro processor. It offers 8GB/12GB RAM, 128GB/256GB storage, a 5,000 mAh battery with 45W wired charging, and runs on Android 14-based NothingOS with assured updates for three years and security patches for four years.
