With 85% of its civil works complete, the Thuruthy twin housing project in Kochi is on track for a year-end finish. Managed by Cochin Smart Mission Limited (CSML) for the Kochi Corporation, the project is located in the Kalvathy division and is poised to be the Corporation’s largest urban housing initiative, comprising 199 housing units. Authorities have set a completion deadline of December 31. Remaining tasks include installing grills, painting, fitting window shutters, establishing a sewage treatment plant, pipe fixtures, and constructing water tanks. Ground-floor flooring and the installation of generators and lifts are also pending, although the fire-fighting system is nearly finished. Worth ₹41.74 crore, the project also features 14 shops, parking for 60 cars and 20 two-wheelers, and each of the 15 apartment units per floor covers 300 sq ft. Designed to aid slum elimination efforts, the Corporation has already identified beneficiaries. With civic elections approaching, the ruling front may showcase this milestone achievement.
