Exciting News: Xbox Cloud Gaming to Empower Players by Streaming Owned Games!
Microsoft is set to enhance its game streaming services starting next month, allowing players to stream their entire Xbox game libraries. Currently, players can only stream a select number of titles via the Xbox app, but come November, this restriction will be lifted, according to The Verge. The update will enable streaming of any owned games, even those not part of the Xbox Game Pass library. This initiative is part of an ongoing project known as Project Lapland, with plans to initially test the new capabilities with Xbox Insiders before a broader rollout.
In tandem with these streaming advancements, Microsoft is also making strides in mobile game purchases. A recent court ruling necessitates Google to remove its Google Play Billing mandate, clearing the path for Microsoft to sell Xbox games through its mobile app on Android devices in the US, effective November 1. Once fully implemented, this will allow users to buy and stream Xbox games directly on their Android devices.
The evolution of Xbox Cloud Gaming has been anticipated since 2020 when Project xCloud was expected to launch with library streaming. Despite past delays, these upcoming changes signify a major step towards offering players a complete, accessible game streaming experience.
