Relief and Hope: Special Train Resumes Journey for Stranded Passengers after Kavaraippettai Collision
In the wake of a collision between the Mysuru-Darbhanga Bagmati Express and a stationary goods train, a special relief train departed Dr. MGR Chennai Central Railway Station early Saturday, allowing stranded passengers to continue their journey. The express train, disrupted late Friday around 8:30 pm near Kavaraippettai Railway Station close to Chennai, suffered derailment of 12 coaches, leading to injuries for 19 passengers who received immediate medical assistance.
The accident disrupted services on the Chennai-Gudu section, causing significant inconvenience as train services between Ponneri and Kavaraippettai were heavily impacted. As a result, two scheduled trains were canceled and several others rerouted.
