Erode district in Tamil Nadu experienced moderate rainfall on Saturday, causing waterlogging in various areas, including urban streets and the Nethaji Daily Vegetable and Fruit Market premises at V.O.C. Park Ground. This created difficulties for both motorists and pedestrians. Despite the rain-induced challenges, traffic remained unaffected on Dhimbam Ghat Road, part of the Dindigul–Mysuru National Highway 949, where a boulder had fallen. In the agricultural areas such as Talavadi, farmland was similarly affected by stagnant water. Meanwhile, continuous rain led to increased inflows into the Varattupallam reservoir at the Bargur Hills, which remains at full capacity and is releasing excess water into adjacent streams. As of 8 a.m. on Saturday, Erode district recorded a total rainfall of 423 mm, with specific locations reporting: Erode received 77 mm, followed by the Varattupallam reservoir with 68.80 mm, Ammapettai with 58.40 mm, Bhaani with 38 mm, Modakkurichi with 37 mm, Talavadi with 26.40 mm, and Gunderipallam reservoir with 25.20 mm.
