Desperate Plea: Sacked Bus Marshals Urgently Appeal to Delhi Govt. for Reinstatement
Over 10,000 ex-bus marshals have penned an open letter to the Delhi government, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), and the BJP, urging their reinstatement within a week. Their services were terminated in October last year following orders from Lieutenant-Governor V.K. Saxena, who cited an “improper appointment process” as the reason. The letter underscores the severe financial and emotional hardship they have endured since losing their jobs, along with disruptions to their children’s education.
The former marshals have requested that their representatives be included in Thursday’s meeting between AAP and BJP MLAs and the L-G to discuss the issue. While they expressed gratitude to the Delhi Assembly for passing supportive proposals twice, they lamented the lack of concrete action. Previously, the group has organized protests at the Secretariat and Raj Niwas to press their demands.
